Digital Signage
The Computer Science department has the ability to display images, short videos, and other digital media on the Computer Science reception television. Additionally, content can be broadcast to the digital signage screens around the university. This service is offered to a limited scope of eligible faculty and staff within the Computer Science department. Currently enrolled graduate students will need to speak with a Faculty sponsor in order to use the digital signage.
Displays
The screens for the Computer Science department are located in the reception of the 7th floor of 25 Park Place. Digital media following our guidelines will be displayed on this screen for a maximum of 90 days, unless a shorter duration is required. It is possible to schedule content for display at a future date (i.e: in advance).
Restrictions
All digital signage slides and videos are subject to review prior to publication, with a standard wait time of up to 48 hours. Wordy, illegible slides, content not in a 16:9 ratio, and content that does not fit the requirements listed here are not permitted. This includes documents, flyers, and other content not designed with display screens in mind.
Requests that do not follow these strict requirements will be rejected!
Guidelines
When authoring digital media, it is beneficial to be mindful that digital signage are not flyers. For the most effective engagement, please keep in mind the following guidelines:
- Keep slides simple and focused
- Slides must have a maximum of 40 words
- Dates, times, and locations should be large text and readable
- Pictures and graphics make slides interesting and engaging
- URL's should be shortened and simple to remember
- QR codes should be large and prominent to be scannable from a distance
- Consistent department and university branding should be present
Messages are on screen for only a few seconds; therefore, your message should be concise and easy to read. You can provide a shortened URL or QR code for students to get additional information. Titles, dates, times, and locations should be large and readable.
